USPTO welcomes deputy commissioner for trademark registration

The US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has hired Greg Dodson as deputy commissioner for trademark registration.

Dodson’s previous role was a senior analyst in anti-access and area-denial subject matter at aerospace company General Dynamics Information Technology.

His new role will be to support IT, finance and strategic planning, and to manage the completion of the USPTO’s next generation of trademark electronic systems.

The USPTO announced the news in a guest blog by commissioner for trademarks, Mary Boney Denison, on June 24.

Dodson took up his new role earlier this month.
