UBM TechInsights establishes Silicon Valley presence

UBM TechInsights, a patent portfolio manager, has expanded its US patent brokerage team with the additions of Arthur Monk and William Sweet, the company announced in January.

The pair move to the company as vice presidents and will be based in its newly established Silicon Valley office.

UBM’s brokerage team now consists of four brokers in Ottawa, Canada and two in Silicon Valley. They are the supported by more than 300 staff.

Both Monk and Sweet were principles at Inflexion Point Analytics LLC since its inception in 2004. UBM has also acquired proprietary patent analytic tools from Inflexion Point Analytics.

Richard Boadway, vice president of patent brokerage at UBM, said: “Monk and Sweet were impressed with the resources that UBM brings to the IP services business and their ability to offer a complete solution to clients.”

At Inflexion Point Analytics, the pair provided patent portfolio analytics and patent brokerage services for the acquisition and divestiture of patent assets.
