Rouse launches in Africa

Law firm  Rouse has launched in Africa, a joint-venture with South African intellectual property law firm Von Seidels.

The firm, which will be known as Rouse Africa, will be headquartered in Cape Town, South Africa and will also have an office in Windhoek, Namibia.

It is the first global IP firm to launch in sub-Saharan Africa.

Von Seidels already has lawyers based in Kenya, Nigeria and Cameroon, which Rouse said it will “look to build on” in the future by creating a “network of offices”.

Nick Redfearn, deputy chief executive of Rouse, said: “We have found the best in Von Seidels. The firm has a reputation for excellence in Africa and we're privileged to be working with them, and excited to be moving forward together to expand in key African markets."
