Law firm Reed Smith has hired litigator William Cook as a partner in its intellectual property information & innovation group.
Cook, who joins the firm’s Chicago office, was formerly a partner at law firm McGuireWoods.
He has handled cases on trade secrets, copyright and patents before federal and state courts and the Federal Trade Commission.
Mark Melodia, co-leader of the group, said: “Bill is an accomplished data privacy and security lawyer, with significant technical experience in intellectual property law.”
