Quinn Emanuel sets up new Washington, DC office
Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan LLP has opened a Washington, DC office after recruiting three partners from Alston & Bird LLP in September.
The office’s main focus will be representing clients in Section 337 investigations before the US International Trade Commission (ITC).
Paul Brinkman, Alan Whitehurst and Alex Lasher have joined the firm as partners and will be based in its new Washington, DC office.
Quinn Emanuel partner Jon Corey has moved from Los Angeles to become the new office’s managing partner.
Alston & Bird has reacted to the loss of three of its ITC lawyers by announcing that it has recruited ITC expert Jamie Underwood as a partner from Adduci, Mastriani & Schaumberg LLP.
Underwood will be based in Alston & Bird’s Washington, DC office.
Richard Hays, managing partner of Alston & Bird said: “Offering more than a decade of ITC experience, she is a visible and well-credentialed specialist in these unique and popular proceedings. Many of our high-stakes patent litigation clients prefer the ITC for the known speed and unique nature of the resolutions, and we know that [Underwood] will only add strength to this practice.”
