US President Barack Obama has nominated Judge Lucy Koh to serve on the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
The White House released a statement yesterday, February 25, nominating Koh for the position.
Since 2010, Koh has worked as a district judge at the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
She also worked as a California superior court judge for Santa Clara County from 2008 to 2010.
Koh has also worked as a partner at law firm McDermott Will & Emery, where she focused her practice on trade secret and patent litigation.
Obama said Koh “has distinguished herself as a first-rate jurist with unflagging integrity and even-handedness”.
“I am grateful for her service to the state of California and look forward to adding her considerable wisdom and experience to the ninth circuit court."
