Norton Rose and Chadbourne & Parke announce merger

Law firms Norton Rose Fulbright and Chadbourne & Parke have announced that they will merge in the second quarter of this year.

The combination will mean the new firm will have more than 1,000 lawyers in the US, with more than 300 based in New York.

Globally, the firm will have more than 4,000 lawyers in 58 offices which span 32 countries.

Following the merger, the firm will be known as Norton Rose Fulbright.

According to a release issued by Norton Rose yesterday, February 21, the combination with strengthen both firms’ offerings in litigation and dispute resolution.

Both firms have IP practices.

One of Norton Rose’s recent cases saw the law firm represent a “large manufacturer of LCD displays” in patent litigation at the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.

Chadbourne & Parke has recently represented Canon in a patent infringement action centring on software in scanners.
