Nixon Peabody hires two new partners
International law firm Nixon Peabody LLP has appointed two new partners to its IP team.
Staci Jennifer Riordan and Julian Petty both join the firm’s Los Angeles office. Riordan’s practice focuses on the fashion industry, while Petty represents clients in the entertainment industry. Both join from Fox Rothschild LLP.
Riordan formerly chaired Fox Rothschild’s fashion law practice. She has represented start-ups and multinational fashion designers in litigation, and has counselled clients on brand licensing, copyright and trademark matters.
Petty assists clients in the entertainment industry with transactional and pre-litigation matters.
Jeff Costellia, leader of Nixon Peabody’s IP counselling and transactions practice, said: “The fashion business is dynamic and becoming more complex as fashion designers, manufacturers and retailers are experiencing significant shifts in retail and customer platforms and engaging in multi-channel marketing strategies.
“Our fashion clients need sophisticated advice to navigate these new challenges, which include media licensing, privacy, celebrity endorsement, global IP protection, and e-commerce,” he added.
