New president starts at LESI
Alan Lewis, a partner at South African law firm Adams and Adams, has become the new president of the Licensing Executives Society International (LESI).
Lewis became president in October after being elected for the role. His term in office will last for at least one year.
LESI informs the public, international and governmental bodies and businesses about the economic significance of intellectual property. It encourages high professional standards in the transfer and licensing of technology and industrial or intellectual property rights.
“I am honoured to serve as president of an association that takes the commercialisation of intellectual property so seriously,” said Lewis.
Lewis specialises in patents, computer law, copyright, industrial designs and intellectual property commercialisation.
He was president of the association’s South African chapter and is a fellow of the South Africa Institute of Intellectual Property Law.
