McDermott Will & Emery LLP has bolstered its IP group with addition of two partners.
Michael O’Shaughnessy and Kieran Kieckhefer have joined the firm’s Washington, DC and Silicon Valley offices respectively.
O’Shaughnessy focuses on patent litigation and appeals, and has experience in fields including pharmaceutical, biotechnology and chemical.
He previously worked for Finnegan Henderson Farabow Garrett & Dunner LLP.
Sarah Columbia, partner and head of McDermott’s IP litigation practice group, said O’Shaughnessy would play a “crucial role” in increasing its practice.
Kieckhefer focuses on patent, copyright and trade secrets law. She joins from Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP.
Daniel Alberti, partner in the Silicon Valley office, said: “With her trial experience, and litigation management background, Kieren will play a key role in representing McDermott’s IP litigation clients.”
McDermott Will & Emery has more than 1,100 lawyers in offices across the US and Europe.
