McCarter & English expands IP practice
US law firm McCarter & English LLP has continued the expansion of its IP practice with the hiring of two lawyers as special counsel.
Lisa Tyner and James Cullem will join the firm’s New York and Boston offices, respectively.
Cullem is a registered patent attorney with experience in business development and licensing issues facing biotech companies.
Tyner specialises in patent prosecution and due diligence investigations, and practices in the life sciences area, including in the immunology, genomics and protein therapeutics fields.
“Lisa and Jim bring valuable knowledge and experience to McCarter due to their extensive work in the biotech industry,” said Elizabeth Hanley, head of the firm’s IP/information technology group.
“Adding them to our already deep group is part of our ongoing effort to provide our clients with elite service covering the full range of IP matters.”
The firm’s IP group has already made 11 additions this year and now has more than 100 IP lawyers, technical specialists and patent agents.
McCarter & English LLP employs 400 attorneys in Boston, Hartford, New York, Newark, Philadelphia, Stamford and Wilmington.
