McCarter & English LLP has recruited a former pharmaceutical in-house counsel for its IP and information technology practice in Boston, the firm announced in January.
Evelyn Shen joins the firm as special counsel from Eisai Inc, where she was associate general counsel. She has also worked at pharmaceutical companies Johnson & Johnson, where she was senior patent counsel, and Warner Lambert, where she was patent counsel.
Shen has performed IP audits and negotiated IP agreements. She has also counselled multidisciplinary teams to establish best practices, to evaluate licensing opportunities and to integrate acquisitions of up to $4 billion.
Elizabeth Hanley, chair of the intellectual property and information technology practice at McCarter & English, said: “Shen has experience in providing practical options and strategic business advice at all stages of research, discovery, development and commercialisation of products, particularly pharmaceuticals. Her experience will enhance our premier and growing intellectual property practice.”
