Jones Day adds two partners to IP practice
Jones Day has announced the addition of two new partners to its IP practice, one in Detroit and one in Los Angeles
Emily Tait joins the Detroit office from Honigman Miller Shwartz and Cohn, where she spent seven years as a partner.
Tait has experience in all IP litigation in federal courts across the US, and has participated in the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit Bar Association for four years.
She also advises clients on IP issues across a range of technologies, including vehicle diagnostic and calibration software, engine parts and semiconductors.
"It is very appropriate that Emily is joining the firm in its Detroit office — the birthplace of the American automotive industry," said Tim Melton, partner-in-charge of Jones Day's Detroit Office.
"Her diverse experience and connections to the Metro Detroit area further solidifies our position as a leading law firm in this region."
Andrea Jeffries has joined the firm’s LA office from Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr, where she served as a partner for over 6 years.
She focuses her practice primarily on IP disputes involving patents, copyrights, and trademarks.
Jeffries also has experience in a wide range of IP matters in the computer, semiconductor, consumer products, and life sciences industries.
"Andrea has produced exceptional results for her clients in highly complex disputes across a number of industries," said Brian Sun, partner-in-charge of Jones Day's Los Angeles Office.
"She is well-known and respected in Los Angeles, and is a tremendous addition to our team."
