Allen & Overy partner appointed as deputy High Court judge

Allen & Overy partner David Stone has been appointed to sit as a deputy High Court judge at the English High Court.

He’ll sit for up to 30 days a year in the Chancery Division while remaining full-time at Allen & Overy, which he joined from Simmons & Simmons in November 2016.

The Lord Chief Justice of England & Wales  appointed 21 individuals as judges, following an open competition run by the Judicial Appointments Commission.

They will serve a single fixed four-year term.

“We wish him the best of luck in this very prestigious appointment,” said Allen & Overy.
