INTA appoints Hélène Nicora as chief rep officer in Europe
The International Trademark Association (INTA) has appointed Hélène Nicora as chief representative officer for Europe.
Nicora, who joined the association in 2013 as a policy officer, will now lead INTA’s operations in Brussels and at a national level in Europe.
She will represent INTA at EU institutions, while advising on and implementing the association’s policies, membership development and communications, an official statement said.
Nicora replaces Christina Sleszynska—who set up the Europe representative office ten years ago—and will lead a team of three staff: Milesh Gordhandas, Carolina Oliveira and Hadrien Valembois.
Nicora featured in an interview earlier this year for the official INTA Daily News at the Annual Meeting in Barcelona. Discussing harmonisation in Europe, Nicora said that counterfeiting is a global phenomenon, “and to deal with this, we need a global answer. This is an issue where every region of the world should try to reach a common answer.”
