Law firm Greenberg Traurig LLP has bolstered its IP department by taking on Weisun Rao as a shareholder in its IP and technology practise in Chicago.
Rao (pictured left) is experienced in developing IP strategies and building and managing portfolios for legal and business opportunities in the US and China.
He also advises clients on monetising and enforcing their IP rights throughout the world and counsels clients on issues in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and mechanical industries.
In addition to Chicago, Rao will also spend time in the firm’s Shanghai office.
John Gibbons, co-managing shareholder of the Chicago office, said it was pleased to welcome Weisun to the firm.
“With his addition, we continue to enhance the services we offer to our clients in the IP and technology practice and are confident that he will make meaningful contributions in Chicago, Shanghai and firm wide.”
Dr Rao earned his BSc from Jilin University in China and a PhD from The University of Akron, in Ohio.
