Jorge Amigo Castaneda, the founder and former head of the Mexican Institute of Intellectual Property (IMPI) has joined the International Intellectual Property Institute (IIPI) as vice chairman, it was announced in August.
Amigo was unanimously elected to IIPI’s board of directors.
He recently retired as director general of IMPI. Amigo founded in the agency in 1994 and managed it for 17 years.
The Hon Bruce Lehman, IIPI’s chairman and president, said: “Amigo has an exceptional record of accomplishment on the international stage during his many years at IMPI. We very much look forward to his wise counsel and participation in IIPI’s projects.”
