Former DLA Piper lawyer launches IP firm

A former DLA Piper lawyer, Sharon Rowe, has opened a new law firm specialising in government and intellectual property law.

Rowe previously worked in the Canberra, Australia office of law firm DLA Piper.

According to Lawyers Weekly, Rowe has started her own law firm, Sharon Rowe, where she works as principal.

The firm will assist with IP, data protection, and procurement matters.

It will also offer a legal training programme, as well as secondment and contract services.

Rowe said: “Now clients are saying they are less concerned about the brand of the firm and are more price-conscious. There are so many high-quality lawyers now working at smaller firms that having a big firm on board is not necessarily an indication of a higher quality.

“The good thing is that I’ll be able to be flexible and adapt my business model quickly to suit client needs as they continue to evolve with the changing market,” she added.
