Estudio Antequera Parilli & Rodríguez adds IP lawyer

Venezuelan firm Estudio Antequera Parilli & Rodríguez has recruited Mariana Montiel Salas, it announced in April. The firm now has 13 practising IP lawyers.

She joins Estudio Antequera Parilli & Rodríguez as a lawyer from Caracas-based firm Araque Reyna Sosa Viso & Pittier, where she was a partner and head of the IP practice.

Montiel has managed the trademark and patent portfolios of companies such as Starbucks, FMC and Diario El Universal in Venezuela.

She also practises IP administrative litigation and works on business transactions that require due diligence, contracts, transfer agreements and licences.

Ricardo Alberto Antequera, managing partner of Estudio Antequera Parilli & Rodríguez, said: “We are extremely fortunate to have a lawyer of Montiel’s character, expertise and business savvy at our firm. At a time when there is no ‘business as usual’ in Venezuela, every client’s IP assets must be strategically managed and protected.”
