Law firm DLA Piper has appointed William Fisher as partner and head of its patent practice in China.
Fisher joins from Hogan Lovells, where he served for six years.
Based in Shanghai, Fisher’s practice focuses on counselling, licensing, and enforcement and litigation in all areas of IP, with an emphasis on patents, trade secrets and international IP and technology-related transactions.
He has 20 years of experience advising clients in a wide range of technologies and industries, including computer hardware and software, telecommunications, internet and e-commerce, pharmaceutical and aerospace.
Horace Lam, co-head of DLA Piper’s IP and technology (IPT) group in Asia, said: “William’s wealth of experience in patent-related work will seamlessly complement our already strong IPT team in China.”
Lam added: “He is a highly regarded IP practitioner with great technical and client-facing skills and I am very pleased to have him join our team."
