Directi launches .pw domain
Trademark owners (with marks registered before December 1, 2012) can apply to protect their rights in the new .pw namespace from December 3, 2012 to February 8, 2013.
Directi, which announced the generic ‘professional web’ domain this October, has a sunrise process catering for brand owners, allowing them to secure their marks. Details can be found on the registry website at http://registry.pw/launch_schedule.php.
A landrush period will open from February 18, 2013 to March 18, 2013, before general availability (GA) commences on March 25, 2013. The registry has said there will be no restrictions on GA registration.
Registrars offering the domain include Key-Systems, Com Laude, Hexonet, IP Mirror, 101Domain, Safenames, United Domains, MailClub, Marcaria, EPAG, Lexsynergy, Name.com, CSC, Instra and RU-Center. UK based CentralNic will provide the back-end registry technology to Directi.
