D Young & Co adds partner to trademarks practice

IP law firm D Young & Co has hired Matthew Dick as partner of its trademarks practice.

Dick (pictured left) joins D Young & Co from Bristows. A solicitor specialising in brand-related law, he advises clients on all aspects of trademark portfolio management including creation, registration, exploitation and enforcement.

Dick has also advised on advertising complaints, domain name proceedings and disputes before the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market, the Court of Justice for the EU, the UK Intellectual Property Office and the English High Court, and on copyright and design issues.

He will work closely with the firm’s dispute resolution group on litigation matters.

“Joining D Young & Co is an exciting move for me, providing an exceptional opportunity to work collaboratively with both trade mark attorneys and solicitors under the same roof, offering the kind of one-stop service that clients are increasingly looking for,” Dick told WIPR.

Jeremy Pennant, head of trademarks, said he is “delighted with Matthew's arrival”.

“With his unique background, he will be able to work closely with both our trade mark attorneys and solicitors, offering clients a genuinely one-stop service,” he added.

D Young & Co has offices in London, Southampton and Dubai.
