CISAC reveals 2016 president and board of directors

The International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers (CISAC) has re-elected Jean-Michel Jarre as president and appointed Angélique Kidjo, Marcelo Piñeyro, Ousmane Sow and Jia Zhang-ke as vice presidents.

CISAC announced the results of its 2016 elections for president, vice presidents and board of directors.

Jarre has been re-elected as president for a three-year term, while Kidjo, Piñeyro and Sow have also been re-elected as vice presidents. Zhang-ke has been voted in as a vice president for the first time.

CISAC’s board of directors compromises 20 member societies and also serves for three years.

The members include authors’ societies from countries such as Australia, Canada, Spain and the US.

CISAC was established in 1926 to represent authors and the collective management of rights. It has 230 members, who represent four million creators in artistic fields.

Gadi Oron, CISAC director general, said: “We are thrilled that Jean-Michel Jarre, Angélique Kidjo, Marcelo Piñeyro and Ousmane Sow have been re-elected as president and vice-presidents of CISAC.”
