Brownstein hires former NASA engineer

Law firm Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck has appointed Richard Zelenka as an intellectual property and patent of counsel in its Denver office.

He joins from Sheridan Ross, where he served as a patent attorney.

Zelenka previously served as a NASA engineer for more than nine years, creating and flight testing collision-warning and guidance systems.

He was also employed as an executive at Boeing for nearly five years, negotiating agreements for joint technical development programmes and government contracts.

According to Brownstein, Zelenka has drafted and obtained patents in areas including automated systems, business methods and software, medical devices, energy, electronic devices, mechanical systems and commercial products.
