Boutique IP firm launches in Amsterdam

A boutique intellectual property law firm has launched in Amsterdam, founded by three Netherlands-based IP lawyers.

Leeway was founded by Marga Verwoert, Michiel Odink and Remco van Leeuwen, who have a combined 60 years of experience working with some of the world’s biggest brands.

Verwoert joins from Dutch IP boutique Hoogenraad & Haak, where she worked as IP and advertising law counsel.

Odink joins the firm from the Dutch office of Osborne Clarke, which he helped to establish. He also served as managing partner at the firm from 2014 to 2015.

Van Leeuwen joins from Dutch commercial firm Van Doorne, where he had been a partner since 2002 and was head of both the IP/IT and privacy department, and the consumer goods and retail team.

Odink said: “We believe there’s space in the Dutch market for an IP firm that puts relationship lawyering at the heart of everything we do.”
