Bitcoin committee chair joins Pillsbury IP team

The chairman of the Bitcoin Foundation’s regulatory affairs committee, Marco Santori, has joined the Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP IP team.

Described by financial publication American Banker as the “dean of digital currency lawyers”, Santori has experience in advising companies on IP issues related to the virtual currency. He will join as counsel in the New York office.

He joins from Nesenoff & Miltenberg LLP, where he worked as counsel.

James Gatto, head of the social media and games team at Pillsbury, said: “We are excited for Marco to join our rapidly growing team, one of the largest Bitcoin practices in the US.

“His deep knowledge about and current work in digital currency is tremendously valuable and adds to the already significant depth we have in advising virtual currency clients.”
