Bird & Bird boosts IP practice in Asia

Law firm Bird & Bird has strengthened its intellectual property practice with the addition of Andrew Robinson as a counsel.

Robinson, a litigation solicitor with nearly 20 years’ experience in brand protection, will split his time between Beijing and Hong Kong.

Before joining Bird & Bird, Robinson worked for Philip Morris International as the global head of brand integrity.

He has also served as litigation partner at Clifford Chance.

Matthew Laight, head of Bird & Bird’s IP group in Asia-Pacific, said: “The firm’s IP offering, specifically in brand protection, will be enhanced significantly, placing us among the strongest teams in Asia Pacific.”

Robinson will co-ordinate the anti-counterfeiting practice in the region to provide strategies for tackling fakes, advice, and litigation services where necessary.
