Barnes & Thornburg hires partner in Atlanta

Law firm Barnes & Thornburg has hired Robert Lockwood as partner in the firm’s IP department in Atlanta.

Lockwood joins from law firm Burr & Forman, where he also worked as a partner.

He has experience in trademark licensing, prosecution, trade dress, copyright, and domain name and technology issues.

Lockwood has also presided over arbitration proceedings before the World Intellectual Property Organization.

Felicia Boyd, co-chair of the firm’s IP department, said: “Robert is extremely accomplished, especially when dealing with the web address and domain landscape.

“He has an impressive track-record working with clients to develop and execute innovative branding strategies, and he’s equally skilled at defending against IP-related assaults against companies.”
