Baker & Hostetler adds another partner to IP team
Baker & Hostetler LLP has added privacy and data protection specialist Alan Friel as partner in its IP group.
Friel, who will join the Los Angeles office, focuses on IP transactions, regulatory schemes, and privacy and consumer protection law.
He joins Baker & Hostetler from Edwards Wildman Palmer LLP and will be part of the privacy and data protection and information technology and transaction teams.
Friel’s appointment follows the recent addition of three IP attorneys, also from Edwards Wildman, at the firm’s Chicago office.
“We are excited to have Friel on board,” said John Cermak, managing partner of Baker & Hostetler’s LA office.
“His data privacy compliance and auditing experience is a new capability for our LA office and an exciting boost to the firm’s nationally recognised privacy and data protection practice,” Cermak added.
Former Federal Trade Commissioner and privacy partner Pamela Harbour will also join the LA office.
Baker & Hostetler has nearly 900 lawyers in 14 offices across the US.
