Appleyard Lees expands Manchester team

UK IP firm Appleyard Lees has bolstered its Manchester office with two additions to its electronics and software team.

The firm, which has offices across the UK, has added Ithel Jones as senior associate and Howard Read as technical assistant.

A patent attorney, Jones (below left) has experience in patenting computer-implemented inventions.

He joins Appleyard Lees from Wynne-Jones IP, where he advised clients including multinational enterprises, universities and NHS bodies.

His experience covers software in telecoms, sensor networks and mobile phone apps.

Read (below right) has previously collaborated with industry, academic and government partners and worked in the fields of software, aerospace and analytical instrumentation technologies.

Ian Robinson, partner and head of electronics and software at Appleyard Lees, said the appointments “further strengthen our team, reiterating our breadth of expertise and ensuring that clients continue to benefit from outstanding client service in our specialist areas.”
