AOP announces new chief executive

Patent research community Article One Partners (AOP) has announced the appointment of Marshall Phelps as its new chief executive.

Phelps (pictured below) was formerly corporate vice president of IP policy at Microsoft and corporate vice president of IP & licensing at technology company IBM.

AOP, which provides crowdsourced prior art research through an online search community, is used to help companies defend against litigation, build their portfolios, and improve the quality of patents.
