AIPLA announces new board of directors

The American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA) has revealed its board of directors for the next 12 months.

The AIPLA revealed the new board during its 2015 Annual meeting, which took place from October 22 to 24 in Washington, DC.

Denise DeFranco, AIPLA’s new president will serve as chair and president of the executive committee, along with a board of directors made up of 19 AIPLA members.

Each year, four new members are elected to serve a three year term.

The new officers include: Mark Whitaker, partner at law firm Baker Botts, who serves as president-elect, Myra McCormack a counsel at pharmaceutical company Johnson & Johnson, who is first vice president and Sheldon Klein, principal at law firm Gray Plant Mooty as second vice president.

Sharon Israel, partner at law firm Mayer Brown is the new immediate past president, while David Ruschke of Medtronic and John Hornickel of PolyOne Corporation will be secretary and treasurer respectively.
