SmartLaws monitors your docketing events, and is designed to activate only the relevant deadlines for each case. As soon as an event is completed, the diary ‘black box’ activates other dependent activities as necessary.

The black box is the heart of the docketing area, and it can automatically control the case status, optionally assign deadlines to a specific fee earner or paralegal and trigger multiple letters and forms per work ow activity.

Fileye comes with a great report and letter writer, giving you complete control over the format of your templates, from the basic font attributes to the layout and style. Create as many templates as you need, and personalise them with your own letter headings. Reports and letters can be produced at the click of a button, for individual cases or batches. Fileye can produce PDF forms as well. There is also a comprehensive contacts area where you can store a myriad of communication details (telephone numbers, email and web addresses, Skype, etc), notes and so copy documents.

Cost tracking

We understand it’s essential to record your expenditure, so SmartLaws also comes with a Cost Tracking module, ensuring you are able to analyse all costs and expected revenue. Management information reports can be generated on demand.

Known costs, such as filing, examination, grant, publication and renewal fees can be assigned to diary events and Fileye will automatically generate a cost item when the work ow activity instructs it to. Other miscellaneous costs such as invoices and time can also be captured.
